Not at all! It was written for a bassettclarinett, a combination
between bassetthorn and clarinette, and also nowadays now and then
played on that instrument. It was written for the virtuoso Anton
Stadler (for whom Mozart also wrote the Clarinett Quintet and the
Kegelstatt-trio).
