Equative is a case with the meaning of comparison, or likening.

In Ossetic it is formed by the ending -ау [aw]:

фæт — arrow, фæтау — like an arrow.
Ницы фенæгау йæхи акодтаlit. Nothing seer-like himself made ("[he or she] pretended to see nothing").
