French Literature Companion: Ernest Flammarion

Flammarion, Ernest (1846-1936). French book-seller and publisher. He successfully launched his still-flourishing family publishing venture in 1867 with the Astronomie populaire of his brother, the astronomer Camille Flammarion. The firm published Drumont (La France juive, 1885), Hector Malot, Colette, and a wide list of medical, scientific, geographical, and historical works, including the Père Castor children's series.
