A motor programme for a skill consisting of several movements. Movements performed during a tennis serve, for example, include taking a stance, throwing the ball in the air, swinging the racket, transferring the weight from one foot to the other, and striking the ball. The executive programme for the whole action consists of subroutines for each component movement.
