Does the opulent extravagance of the Mormon church and their temples demonstrate their sinful nature and prove the church is false?
Most things in the Mormon church would not be considered opulent or extravagant. The temples might be able to be described as such because they are built for the Lord using on…ly the finest materials and craftmanship to honor Him. Just because the temples are extravagant does not mean the church is false; that is interesting and not very insightful reasoning. Additionally if you look in to the description of what God told his followers to put into the temple that was built in Old Testament times and if you were to apply the same reasoning to that structure then you would have to say that the God described in the Old Testament, (who I might add Jesus Christ claimed to be) was a false and sinful God, because almost everything in that building was either made of Gold or coated in it. So it was a very extravagant building and because Jesus Christ claimed to be the God described in the Old Testament you would also have to label him as a false and sinful being. The reasoning used in your question falls apart very quickly if you apply it to other things. The temples that are built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are done so following the spirit of the temples built in ancient times. (MORE)
