Biography

Austin-based power pop/emo/punk band Failsafe formed in January 1996 in San Angelo, TX. Friends Dustin Aylor, who played bass for the band, Sam Rich (on drums), and Chase Lindemann (guitarist and vocalist) got together to play a mixture of hardcore and speedy pop-punk, eventually growing into a more mature rock sound with tinges of emo. They released an album, entitled Lego My Ego, and built up a following through www.mp3.com, eventually winning a contest which led to the selection of their song, "Outside of the World," for the Getting Hal soundtrack. Failsafe also made the Top 50 in the American Music Awards Coca-Cola New Music Award, which highlighted unsigned bands. In 2003, the popular television show Dawson's Creek used the band's song "A New Beginning" in an episode, while their track "Outside of the World" was featured in the feature film Getting Hal. ~ Stacia Proefrockwww.mp3.com, eventually winning a contest which led to the selection of their song, "Outside of the World," for the Getting Hal soundtrack.
