Fandral Staghelm is the Archdruid of Darnassus, succeeding Malfurion Stormrage, who was lost in the Emerald Nightmare. He is in a constant power struggle with Tyrande Whisperwind, High Priestess of Elune, for leadership of thenight elf people, and was one of the architects of the plan to create Teldrassil.

The main characters in 'Thor' are:

Thor, Loki, Jane Foster, Odin, Dr. Erik Selvig, Heimdall, Laufey, Darcy Lewis, Warriors Three (Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun), Sif, Frigga, and Phil Coulson.

Loki (Tim Hiddleston), Odin (Anthony Hopkins), Heimdall (Idris Elba), Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Hogun (Tadanobu Asano), Fandral (Joshua Dallas), Sif (Jamie Alexander), and Fregga (Rene Russo).

There were actually three world tree's, Nordrassil (the original world tree), Teldrasil (failed attempt by the druid Fandral Staghelm), and Vordrasil (located in Grizzly Hills, Yogg-Saron sleeps under its roots, and was destroyed by druids).

The original World Tree (in Mount Hyjal) grew on top of the Well of Eternity, and forms a sort of bond that keeps the energies of the world together and prevents the Well from becoming unstable as well. Although it was damaged or destroyed as part of Archimonde's attack, a new sprout was seen growing from the trunk.

Archdruid Fandral Staghelm attempted to recreate the World Tree by planting a sprout, resulting in Teldrassil. However, the tree is not healthy, and may even be dying. In Northrend, another attempt was made to recreate a World Tree, Vordrassil. However, this one was tainted by the power of Yogg-Saron in the ground.
