Formations of airplanes. They might form a "line abreast" (a
line of planes left to right/right to left); or a "V" shaped
formation, or a single file formation, or an echelon formation (a
line that is at an angle). Each formation is one attack wave;
follow on waves will be directly behind them, in the same type of
formation. The purpose of these formations is for command and
control. Precision hitting of targets demand precision flying.
