Coup de Foudre is thunderclap. Foudroyant- Thundering ( this was the name of a battleship) I do not think they have a specific word for lightning but There was a super- cannon in one of Verne"s novels called the Fulgurator-Roch. and That former word might mean ( that which makes a big flash of light!) Fulgurex- lit Flash King is a Swiss outfit that makes model locomotives, but probably originally- cigarette lighters. Oddly, in French there is no direct synonym for ( dark) Black ( Noir) and Obscure- shaded are used instead.
