Biography

Australian alternative metal combo Full Scale featured vocalist Ezekiel Ox, guitarist Jimmy Tee, bassist Robkaay, and drummer Crutey. Successful gigging in their hometown of Perth led Full Scale to bigger venues in Melbourne and Sydney, and by 2003 considerable buzz was building. The Black Arrows and White Arrows EPs appeared through their own label, Popstar, the same year, and the band's hard-hitting, gristly sound -- led by Ox's vocal seethe -- caught the interest of American majors. Full Scale eventually signed with Columbia, and a self-titled full-length appeared in early 2005. It featured re-recorded versions of songs from the EPs as well as new material. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

Starting out as Full Scale Deflection in 1998, Full Scale was an alternative-metal band from Perth, Western Australia. The band moved to Melbourne in the year 2000, changing members and playing Full Scale Deflection's songs whilst Robkaay and Crutey settled in. They released two EP's on Robkaay's record label Popstar Records, entitled "White Arrows" and "Black Arrows"[1] and toured the east coast extensively. The band moved to Los Angeles and was signed to Columbia Records (SonyBMG)[2] and released their full length debut in 2005.[3] The band was known for Ox's strongly politically motivated lyrics and Tee's warped and brutal riffs.

Full Scale broke up in late 2005,[3] they had their final show as the original line-up in Madison Wisconsin supporting Sir Mix A Lot at the Taste Of Madison Festival. They later played one last Australian show at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne in March 2006, with Ben Brennan (Seven) playing bass.[citation needed]

Ezekiel Ox is now the front man for Mammal,[4] who have toured Australian since March 2006, releasing an EP, a single (Slaves, produced by Forrester Savell) and two albums (Vol 1: The Aural Underground and The Majority). He is also fronting Ezekiel Ox and the Fury (with Ben Brennan), his Alt Country band, as well as appearing in theatre, and producing music for Hip Hop co-ops.

Robkaay played for Sunk Loto[5] until they broke up mid 2007. He went on to become an Author, writing a series of books about what it's like to be in a band called Robkaay Journals,[6] and a speculative fiction novel and Myric called Silverbirch; A Tear in the Fabric of the Night Sky.

Crutey runs "Saltar Hype" booking agency out of Melbourne as well as still playing in different projects (one with Ben Brennan).[7] As of 2009, he is also the drummer for the Tim McMillan Band.

Jimmy Tee went on to play for U.S pioneers Helmet[8] for a short period, touring the world with them.

Forrester Savell has gone on to produce records by Dead Letter Circus, Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect and Human Nature.

Chris Frey is an award winning film maker working in Melbourne.

In 2008, "Colour, Light, Movement, Sound!", a documentary on Full Scale's journey from Perth to America and their subsequent demise is released on DVD.[9] The DVD contains a bonus disc called Bootleg which contains live clips from assorted gigs in the band's career. The release of the DVD was marked with a launch party at Melbourne's Hi-Fi Bar.[10] Ezekiel Ox, Jimmy Tee, Crutey and Robkaay attended the launch party and came on stage at the end of the night to give their thanks and take one last bow for their loyal fans.
