Pectoral Girdle

The only girdle I know of what Hippolyta's Girdle. A girdle then is the same as a girdle now, they just serve different purposes. A girdle is a wide sash or belt worn at the waist. For Hippolyta, it was her symbol of authority.

The scientific name for the shoulder girdle is "pectoral girdle." It is the set of bones that connect the upper limbs to the axial skeleton.

When you wear a girdle the fat is squeezed into the girdle giving one a slimmer appearance.
