Yeah...check your history. Punk rock began in the U.S. The Stooges, the Ramones, the New York Dolls, etc. were all releasing albums 3 to 5 years before the Sex Pistols, the Damned, the Clash, etc. even met each other. Glam rock did arguably begin in England with David Bowie. But that really has nothing to do with whether or not KISS is a glam rock band. 1967, John's Children - first punk band. Also, the originator of glam was Marc Bolan - English. They are not glam because glam was effeminate. Categorising them because they wear makeup is stupid as glam was more about the performance and the songs.

Yeah...no. The MC5 were already up and running in 1964. And the Stooges formed at virtually the same time John's Children did.

Again, the timeline just does not add up. The very first punk bands were the MC5 and the Stooges from Detroit, and the first punk scene got started in around 1971 in New York City. And none of these bands were even remotely influenced by John's Children.

Malcolm McLaren was hanging out in New York watching these bands. He even tried to manage the New York Dolls. When he failed, he brought punk to England and sold it there. And it sold.

This is not just my personal view; if you do some reading on punk history, you will find that what I'm saying is the commonly accepted truth.

And you can think whatever you want about KISS, but most people consider KISS to be a glam rock band. And again, the fact that they didn't invent glam rock doesn't mean they aren't glam rock. Again, just Google it.
