Nouri al-Maliki was the Prime Minister of Iraq in 2010. He became the Prime Minister on 2006 May 20. Al-Maliki is a Shiite. His major challenges have been restoring stability to Iraq after the second US-Iraq war, and leading the country through reconstruction.
