Hardware acceleration is the process of handing off parts of the workload from the CPU to a graphics card or video encoder / decoder.

Your computer will slow down in some cases significantly.

To my knowledge this is not possible, however there are several external GPUs in development, these could help in the future, depending on what hardware needs acceleration.

This is most likely to do with Hardware Acceleration causing a problem.

To Fix:

Load the movie, right click on the player and click on Settings (not Global Settings, just Settings). Remove the check from the box next to Hardware Acceleration.

Click on Close

Now Reload the page.
