A "hare scramble" is a type of motorcycle (and sometimes ATV) race. A Hare Scramble course is usually anywhere from 5-12 miles and includes woods trails most of the time, with motocross tracks, hillclimbs, creek crossings, logs, rocks and more. A race typically lasts 1.5-3 hours. Riders will do as many laps as they can in the set amount of time. Riders are usally scored either via a transponder or a bar code placed on the chin of their helmet that is scanned each lap which scores them.
