druthers

If I had my druthers between prime rib and fried chicken, I would pick the prime rib.

This is a dialect spelling of "I'd rather." It means, "If I had a choice...." You usually hear this said when someone does not want to do one thing, but would prefer something else. For example, "If I had my druthers, I'd go to a movie instead of to the museum."
