(b D?beln, nr Dresden, 31 July 1883; d Radolfzell, nr Konstanz, 27 Jan 1970). German painter, printmaker and sculptor. He was one of the founders of the group DIE BR?CKE and one of its most influential and active members. His work was central to German EXPRESSIONISM.
