Moltke, Helmut James, Graf von (Kreisau, Silesia, 1907-45, Berlin-Plötzensee, by execution), a great-nephew of Field-Marshal Graf Helmuth von Moltke, formed a group of dissident Germans after the establishment of the National Socialist regime in 1933 (see Kreisauer Kreis). Suspected of collaboration with the resistance (see Resistance Movements, 2), he was arrested in January 1944 and executed in January 1945. Moltke's Letzte Briefe aus dem Gefängnis Tegel were published in 1953.
