Uta Hagen was married twice, first to Jose Ferrer. She married him in the year 1938 and had a daughter - Leticia Ferrer. After their divorce in 1948 she remarried to actor, teacher, and director Herbert Berghof in 1957. They remained married until Mr. Berghof's death in 1990.

He attended the High School of the Performing Arts before studying at the Herbert Berghof Studio and then went on to work under acting coach Lee Strasburg at The Actors Studio.

Hitler's private home in the Bavarian Alps was known as the Berghof. It was located near the town of Berchtesgaden in southern Germany. The Berghof was destroyed by Allied bombing in 1945 and is now the site of a documentation center.
