Biography

Noted production designer Herman A. Blumenthal was known for his versatility and for his imaginative, highly detailed sets. Blumenthal, who got his start in 1934, has worked on a wide variety of film genres ranging from straight drama (Three Faces of Eve) to sci-fi (Journey to the Center of the Earth) to costume epics (Cleopatra) to lavish musicals (Hello Dolly!).
