Wireless adapters in genral are for computers. The Xbox is designed to only work with the official Xbox wireless adapter to boost revenue to Microsoft. I personally suggest staying away from this adapter because it can only be used for the Xbox. Powerline is an alternative to wireless, and powerline can be used with many different things. The best way to connect to the Internet is a network cable directly to the router, but when that is not an option, powerline and wireless are the 2 most popular options. There are other options such as MoCa and HomePNA.
