Review
Hummingbirds is a remarkable effort from the southern dream pop outfit Venus Hum. This EP shimmers and sparkles with electronic delight, while it's also an impressive look at what's yet to come from this ambitious three-piece. Kip Kubin and Tony Miracle tweak the digital instrumentation, while vocalist Annette Strean delivers a warm, rich sound. The title track is an electric haze of lush lyrical depictions mixed with new wave aesthetic, whereas "Run Annie Run" raves in brighter synth beats for a kitschy club/dance schtick.
