Hyperboreans

 

Hyperboreans (‘dwellers beyond the north wind’), a fabulous people believed by the Greeks to live a blessed existence in the distant and inaccessible north, worshippers of Apollo, who traditionally spent the three winter months with them. Those specially favoured by the gods might spend their afterlife with the Hyperboreans.
