Tom Pletcher, whose cornet style is purposely closely modeled on Bix Beiderbecke's, sits in with the Classic Jazzband, a sextet from Sweden that consists of cornetist Bent Persson (who often sounds like Louis Armstrong circa 1927), Goran Eriksson on alto and clarinet, trombonist Jens Lindgren, banjoist-guitarist-leader Holger Gross, bassist Goran Lind, and drummer Christer Ekhe. Also added to the group is pianist Ulf Johansson Werre and bass saxophonist Frans Sjostrom. Unfortunately, Persson only takes solos on three numbers, and a tradeoff by "Bix" and "Satch" never takes place. But Pletcher is in excellent form and well featured on such numbers as Frankie Trumbauer's "I'm Glad," "Skylark," "My Melancholy Baby," "Riverboat Shuffle," and even "Goody Goody." Easily recommended to fans of 1920s-style classic jazz. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide

The recreation of scenes from Flashdance led Maureen Marder—whose life was the inspiration for the storyline of the film—to sue Lopez, Sony Corporation, and Paramount Pictures for copyright infringement in November 2003, claiming the video was an unauthorized depiction of her life story.[1] The lawsuit was dismissed in June 2006.[2]
