Iansan
Iansan or Iansã in portuguese, is an entity of the Afro-Brazilian religious faith of candomblé, identified with the Catholic Saint Barbara. Goddess of the winds and tempests. He name in English means mother of nine (children).
In caribean santería is syncretised with The Virgin of Candelaria as well as St Theresa.
She is the same as the Yoruban goddess Oya.
In Film
The 2006 Brazil short film Yansan (film) tells a version of the story of Iansan in a futuristic Japan setting.
