At the 1994 North American International Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiled the Concept One, a "retro"-themed concept car with a resemblance to the original Volkswagen Beetle, production of the New Beetle started in 1998.

Volkswagen orginates from Germany, however, being a large international company, they have production facilities all over the world. Some countries in which Volkswagen has production plants include China, USA, Brazil, Mexico and Russia.
