Is Harry on the Boat? was a 2001 British made for TV movie, based on the lives of holiday reps in Ibiza. A television drama series then followed, airing on Sky One from 2002 to 2003.
Background
It's based on the book of the same name by Colin Butts. The title is a reference to the sexual act of ejaculating on the face ('Harry' or 'Harry Monk' is Cockney rhyming slang for spunk and 'boat' - or 'boat race' - is Cockney rhyming slang for 'face').
The TV series was developed and produced by Rapido TV for Sky TV. "Is Harry on the Boat?" was a mix of fast-paced drama, sex, and comedy. It was set in Ibiza and focused on the adventures of a group of holiday reps catering for an 18-30's market. The acting was a little OTT/Hammy, and the story lines between sex scenes, at times, were weak and forced. But the continual comedy and regular sex scenes held the episodes together.
It ran for two series from 2002 to 2003, and proved the formula of fast-paced drama, sex, and comedy for Sky that produced Mile High.
Cast
The cast of the movie was made up of a series of young actors, mainly chosen for their looks over their acting ability. However, it gave first TV appearances for a number of now notable British actors:
