"It's a Wonderful Life" came out in 1946 at the start of Darren McGavin's professional career. Imdb.com lists him in four films that year (uncredited), but not in "It's a Wonderful Life."

Darren McGavin did appear in 1983's "A Christmas Story" as The Old Man.
