Franco-Flemish composer, Jacques Arcadelt, (1504/1505-1568) was
famous for publishing six books of madrigals during the Renaissance
period. His most famous madrigal was IL bianco e Dolce cigno (The
white and gentle swan). ArcadeltÃ?s madrigals became very popular
due to their unusual beauty and ease of performance. He inspired
subsequent composers of the pieces.
