Biography
Tall and chiseled actor Joel Gretsch began his acting career in late-'80s romantic melodramas like the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful and Family Album, the TV-movie adaptation of Danielle Steel's book. He followed this with several random television guest-star appearances and a role in the straight-to-video erotic thriller Kate's Addiction. His feature-film breakthrough came in 2000 with a small role in Robert Redford's golf drama The Legend of Baggar Vance. By 2002, he got small roles in Minority Report, The Emperor's Club, and Steven Spielberg's Sci Fi channel miniseries Taken. Gretsch was born in Albany, Minnesota, the son of Russ and Barb. He has a sister, Jane, and a brother, Steve. Since 1999, Gretsch has been married to former actress Melanie Shatner, daughter of William Shatner, and has two daughters, Kaya and Willow.
In 2008 Gretsch had a recurring role as Pete Raynor, Lindsay Boxer's love interest, on the TV series Women's Murder Club.
Gretsch has reunited with Scott Peters (creator of The 4400) on his highly anticipated new series, a remake of V: The Series. Gretsch is playing a priest in the pilot episode who sees a "renaissance in faith" after the Visitors appear on Earth.[1]
