Edward Seymour was the 1st Duke of Somerset and Jane Seymour's
brother. He was Lord Protector of Edward VI until 1549. He was
replaced by John Dudley, then Earl of Warwick. John Dudley became
Duke of Northumberland and Lord President under Edward VI until
Edward's death and the succession crisis of 1553.
