(b Pernes, 29 Feb 1696; d Versailles, 19 April 1770). French composer. He held posts at cathedrals, including Amiens (1734-8), then worked at the king's chapel, Versailles (maître, 1761). His many sacred works were among the last in the French Baroque tradition but show more modern features and are notable for their imaginative sonorities and textures.
