1. Facts that will excuse the doing of something or another party's acts. If the seller of a car fails to make delivery of it, the buyer's failure to pay will be justifiable.
2. Some act that is otherwise criminal. For example, the courts would probably regard it justifiable should a shopkeeper kill an attacker armed with a deadly weapon, and the shopkeeper may be excused from criminal responsibility.
