As far as I know, the film is fictional. The Wikipedia article on the film states: "Although fictional, the film weaves events drawn from several real sources into the story". Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshine_(1999_film)

I know that the movie is fictional but I was asking the question because if you read about Attila Petschauer on wiki it says that we know about how he was brutally murdered in Davidovka labor camp because of reports from Karoly Karpati who witnessed Petschauer in the labor camp. But then when you read about Karoly Karpati on wiki it says that Karoly Karpati never was in any labor camp so I am confused and that's why I was asking the question. ___ The Wikipedia article on Petschauer doesn't strike me as very reliable ... It refers, for example, that 'The German occupation of Hungary at the outset of World War II ...' but Hungary wasn't occupied till 1944 - which isn't till relatively late in the war. It is of course possible that Petschauer's died in the way described but that the information comes from someone other than Karolyi.
