Kauai is one of Hawaii’s major islands, located northwest of the rest of the islands. This island is nicknamed the “Garden Island’ due to the greenery and tropical plants that inhabit this island. There are many sites to see on the Kauai Island, but most focus on the wildlife or scenic views of the island. Wailua Falls looks like a double waterfall from its viewing areas, but once you get closer you will see that it is really a triple waterfall. The National Tropical Botanical Gardens houses three separate gardens which contain native Hawaiian plants, endangered species and imported species. Each of the three gardens has different entry and tour fees and is located at various places throughout the island. The “Grand Canyon of the Pacific’ can be found at the Waimea Canyon which will show millions of years of geological history. For those who want to stay on the beach, snorkeling, surfing, swimming and kayaking is available for your pleasure. Many of the beaches and other attractions do not have food available at them, so it is recommended that you plan ahead and bring items for lunch. There are many restaurants available for dinner. Two great bars to watch the sunset is the Library at the Starwood Princeville Hotel and Sunset from The Point bar. From both of these locations you can sip on soothing drinks, while watching the sun set behind the mountains.
