Kenny Aaronson (born 14 April 1952 in Brooklyn, New York City) is an American bass guitar player.

Aaronson started playing bass at 15, and became a regular on the New York scene.[citation needed] While a teenager, he played bass for heavy metal band Dust, who released two albums. In 1973, Aaronson joined the short-lived New York art rock band Stories, who reached #1 in the U.S. with "Brother Louie," a hit cover version of the Hot Chocolate song, which moved near the top of the American charts in September of that year.[citation needed]

After Stories dissolved, Aaronson joined the touring band of Hall & Oates in 1974, and afterwards played with Leslie West's band West, Bruce and Laing. He then formed a group with Rick Derringer, and the band supported many of the top acts of the time including Aerosmith, Foreigner, Boston, Peter Frampton and Led Zeppelin.

Aaronson has played as a touring band member for many acts, including Edgar Winter, Billy Squier, Joan Jett, Billy Idol, Foghat (1983), and Bob Dylan. In 1989, he was forced to leave the latter's tour after developing skin cancer. Aaronson underwent surgery, which was successful in defeating the disease.[citation needed]

He was in the band Hagar Schon Aaronson Shrieve with singer Sammy Hagar, guitarist Neal Schon, and drummer Michael Shrieve. Aaronson is currently supporting folk-based singer, John Eddie.[citation needed]
