KTVA, channel 11, is a CBS affiliate in Anchorage, Alaska. The station is currently the only television station owned by the MediaNews Group newspaper chain.
KTVA is broadcast on over-the-air on digital channel 28, as well as on the local cable system, GCI.

History
KTVA is Alaska's first TV station, having signed on the air on December 11, 1953. The station also carried a few NBC programs in the late 1960s, until KHAR-TV (Now KIMO) took the NBC affiliation in 1970. The station was also a DuMont affiliate in the early 1950s [1]. During the late 1950s, the station was also briefly affiliated with the NTA Film Network.[2]
KTVA even carried Sesame Street from 1970 until KAKM signed on in May 1975.
