Plot
Lasca (Edith Roberts) is a fiery young Mexican girl living near the border. Rich cattleman Anthony Moreland (Frank Mayo) has settled nearby and he's attracted to Lasca by the force of her personality. Their romance continues to develop, even when American girl Clara Vane (Veola Harty) turns Moreland's head and Lasca jealously stabs him with a dagger. Almost immediately she is sorry for wounding him, and later she proves her devotion when she dies while saving him from a cattle stampede. Moreland buries his love by the Rio Grande. This was an adaptation of a poem by Frank Desprez -- a slight nod to culture that was rare for Universal Studios during the silent era. ~ Janiss Garza, RoviCast
