Leo (Abraham) Kraft

(b Brooklyn, 24 July 1922). American composer. He studied at Queens College (where he joined the faculty in 1947), at Princeton and with Boulanger in Paris (1954-5). His music, mostly instrumental, was at first neo-classical but later works are atonal. An admired teacher, he is author of several theory and ear-training texts.

Leo Kraft (b. Brooklyn, New York, July 24, 1922) is an American composer, author, and educator.

He holds degrees from Queens College (CUNY) and Princeton University. He studied composition with Karol Rathaus, Randall Thompson, and Nadia Boulanger. His music has been recorded on the CRI label.

In addition, Kraft taught at Queens College for many years.
