Carbohydrate is an old term for saccharides (or glucides) but
frequently used. They are generally formed from many
monosaccharides. Some examples: sugar, maltose, fructose, starch,
levulose, glucose, galactose, etc.

Glucose (or dextrose, but chemically
6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-2,3,4,5-tetrol) is C6H12O6.
Fructose (or levulose but also called fruit sugar) is also
C6H12O6 but it's structure is different than glucose.
