All elves have pointed ears. They are supposed to be beautiful and elegant, except for house elves. Their other characteristics depend on their race; Wood Elf, Light Elf, and Dark Elf.

If an Elf on the Shelf has red eyes, it may be due to the reflection of light on its eyes or a specific design choice by the manufacturer. It is intended to create a magical and mysterious appearance for the elf character, rather than implying something negative or sinister.

Only parents are allowed to touch your very special elf... on one condition. If your elf hasn't moved for two or three days only one person may move the elf. to move the elf they must lay the elf in both hands. Once he or she is in their new spot they will leave notes telling you they are okay in their new spots
