Link Local Address is used for communication with in a router,
if you want to communicate outside your router you need to use site
local address.

The IPv6 address that is required for other computers on a local
network to communicate with each other is, the "Link-local
address". The first hextet will always begin with FE80.

In IPv6, the same result can be achieved by sending a packet to the link-local all nodes multicast group at address ff02::1, which is analogous to IPv4 multicast to address 224.0.0.1.
