Lise Noblet

Noblet, Lise (b Paris, 24 Nov. 1801, d Paris, Sept. 1852). French dancer. She studied at the Paris Opera Ballet School and joined the Paris Opera Ballet in 1816, becoming a soloist. She was introduced to London audiences through her appearances as a guest artist at the King's Theatre (1821-4). She created roles in Aumer's new staging of Dauberval's Le Page inconstant (1823) and La Fille mal gardée (1829); in Aumer's La Belle au bois dormant (1829) and Manon Lescaut (1830). She also created roles in F. Taglioni's La Sylphide (Effie, 1832), La Révolte au serail (1833), and La Fille du Danube (1836).
