Notes

  • ^1 According to Veckans Affärer, Ingvar Kamprad is the wealthiest person in the world. However, this assertion is denied by IKEA Corp, which notes that Kamprad no longer owns the company, which should therefore not be included in reports of his wealth. As of April 2005, the sliding value of the U.S. dollar reportedly put Kamprad ahead as the richest.
  • ^2 If alive as of 2004, Sam Walton would have been the world's wealthiest person, twice as rich as Bill Gates with a fortune of US$100 billion.
