Not necessarily. Depends on the model and if it is a
four-cylinder or V6. 2001 and older 4 cylinders have a cam belt.
From 2002 -up all four-cylinder Toyota engines are driven by a
chain and require no maintenance. Most of the V6 & V8 Toyota
engines are driven by cam belt and require that the belt be
replaced. Some are interferences and some are not. List your year
and engine size and you will get a specific answer for your
vehicle. Or, just open and read your owners manual.
