More commonly known as logos, logotypes are generally the visually distinctive arrangements of lettering whereby companies and organizations are readily recognized by clients, consumers, and the general public. They may be closely linked to the branding of products, be an integral part of Corporate Identity schemes, or may relate to trademarks, another means of ready identification.
