Louis Dreyfus Holding is holding onto agriculture, energy, and real estate. The company's global commodities group trades grains, oilseeds, ethanol, coffee, cotton, and sugar as well as ocean freight, metals, and financial instruments. It also processes citrus, oilseeds, and sugar cane and is one of the world's largest producers of orange juice. Louis Dreyfus' energy group comprises petrochemicals operations in the US and electricity production in France while the real estate division acquires and manages office and hotel properties. Other activities include forestry management and renewable energy projects. Louis Dreyfus was formed in 1851 when Léopold Louis-Dreyfus sold grain from France in Switzerland.
