(b Sassocorvaro, 1600-10; d?1682). Italian composer and organist. A priest, he held a succession of posts as maestro di cappella, principally at Urbino and Ferrara. His five extant volumes of music (mostly published in 1669) contain motets and impressive ricercares which mark the end of the Ferrara organ school. They were copied by Fux and Zelenka and were probably known to Bach.
