A general literary magazine, was published 1975-89 with the support of The Friends of Women's Arts in Victoria and the FAW. Although Luna emphasised women's issues and the work of women, its editorial criteria were based on the quality of the work to be published; thus the work of men as well as women was represented in its pages. Its editorial collective was led by Barbara Giles.

Any of a series of unmanned Soviet lunar probes, launched between 1959 and 1976, responsible for various lunar firsts. Luna 2 (1959) was the first spacecraft to strike the Moon; Luna 3 (1959) was the first to circle the Moon and took the first photographs of its far side. Luna 9 (1966) made the first successful lunar soft landing. Luna 16 (1970) was the first unmanned spacecraft to carry lunar soil samples back to Earth. Luna 17 (1970) soft-landed a robot vehicle for exploration; it also contained television equipment and sent live pictures of several miles of the Moon's surface. Pioneer; Ranger; Surveyor.

One of two successful series of Soviet lunar missions. There were 24 missions to the Moon in the Luna series. (The other series, Zond, had 5 lunar missions.) The first image of the farside of the Moon was taken by the Soviet Luna 3 spacecraft in October, 1959.
