Pertaining to lysis or a lysin.

  • l. necrosis — local products of tissue destruction are reduced to liquid form.
  • l. test — a simple method of cross-matching blood for transfusion in species that show little tendency to agglutinate, e.g. cattle, sheep and horses. Incompatibility causes hemolysis of red cells from either donor or recipient in the serum of the other.
